The handling of individual changes after the GDPR

Individual changes according to GDPR. The new basic data protection regulation – GDPR – comes into force today! In this article we have summarised what this means for property developers and project developers in the individualisation process.

What does the GDPR mean for you as a company?

According to the GDPR, which comes into force on 25 May 2018, all companies based in the EU, as well as all companies that process personal data of data subjects in the EU, must comply with very specific new rules. The purpose of the GDPR is not only to protect Internet users, but also to create uniform rules in Europe with regard to the processing of data and information. Ultimately, this will also benefit every company. Property developers and project developers not only have to take very specific measures in terms of marketing and IT, but also have to proceed in accordance with GDPR with immediate effect in credit checks and contracts. Further information and templates can also be found on the ÖVI website.

How does PROPSTER deal with the GDPR?

In addition to the general requirements of the GDPR, which we have implemented in our company, our platform and contract supplements for property developers and project developers are now also GDPR-compliant. This means that they are already secured with regard to data transfer and processing from the time of the purchase offer. In addition, all apartment buyers must also agree to the data protection declaration when logging into PROPSTER. This consent is already obtained via the project website when the project is integrated into marketing.

What do you have to consider when processing individual changes according to GDPR?

If they use PROPSTER, then they are already out of the woods. Use our supplement for your sales contracts and integrate other suppliers and service providers who have to process customer data. If you also use the project website and our apartment handover or defect management, expand the supplement with the necessary information. If you have any questions, you can also contact us directly on +43 1 361 01 01.
